3. Visa and visa services for foreigners operating in Vietnam on a long-term basis
Foreign nationals who hold a work permit or proof that they are ineligible for a work permit may apply for one of two types of long-term visas, designated as LD1 and LD2, with terms ranging from 6 months to one year (in case of exemption from work permit).
- The LD1 visa is a kind of visa granted to foreigners working in Vietnam with the certification that they are not eligible for a work permit for a maximum of one year (12 months).
- The LD2 visa is a kind of visa provided for a maximum of one year (12 months) to foreigners working in Vietnam with a work permit.
Note: Normally, a work permit or certification of ineligibility for a work permit is required (or work permit exemption) and has a maximum term of 2 years (24 months). Therefore, foreign nationals eligible to apply for a visa may also choose to apply for a temporary residence card with a 2-year maximum validity.

4. Vietnamese visa services for foreign investors
Investment visas are long-term visas issued to foreigners who invest in Vietnam through the business establishment, capital gift, share buying, etc, of Vietnamese firms and organizations. Investment visas come in two varieties: long-term visas and long-term temporary residency cards.
The maximum time for the investment visa (with DT1, DT2, DT3, and DT4) is one year (12 months).
Note:
Foreigners can apply for a temporary residency card for investors if they need a long-term visa that lasts more than one year:
- The length of the temporary residency card DT1 cannot exceed ten years. This temporary residency permit is given to foreign investors and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with a capital contribution of VND 100 billion or more or investing in sectors and professions that qualify for investment incentives, as determined by the government.
- The maximum length for a DT2 temporary residency card is five years. With a contributed capital of between VND 50 billion and under VND 100 billion, or who invest in industries and trades the government has designated as encouraging development investment, this temporary residence card is provided to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations.
- The maximum length for a DT3 temporary residency card is three years. Foreign investors and representatives of foreign organizations operating in Vietnam who have provided funds between VND 3 billion and under VND 50 billion are given this temporary residency permit.

5. Visa services for foreigners whose relatives already hold visas in Vietnam or are Vietnamese nationals
Visa to visit relatives for foreigners (Visa TT) is a type of visa, provided to foreigners whose guarantors are foreign nationals living and working in Vietnam (Have a Vietnam visa) or foreigners whose relatives are Vietnamese citizens or foreigners of Vietnamese descent.
A family visit visa can be valid for up to a year (12 months), or a longer-term temporary residence card can be valid for up to ten years, depending on the situation.
Relatives of foreigners include:
- Vietnamese: You may sponsor your spouse’s, children’s, and grandchildren’s relatives.
- Foreigners: For a maximum term equal to the length of your visa, you may sponsor a visa for your spouse, children, or parents.

In case a foreigner guarantees a foreigner, the dossier includes: Certificate of kinship relationship (Marriage registration, birth certificate, family relationship certificate); Passport, and visa copy of the sponsor
For the case where the Vietnamese sponsor a foreigner, the dossier includes: Certificate of kinship relationship (Marriage registration, birth certificate, certificate of Vietnamese origin…….); Household registration, and citizen identification card of the guarantor of Vietnam

6. Service for foreigners to apply for tourist visas
The Vietnamese government will automatically extend the temporary residency of any foreigners who enter Vietnam after March 1, 2020; this means that to stay in Vietnam, foreign nationals do not need to get a visa. However, foreigners who arrive in Vietnam before March 1, 2020, and remain there afterward must apply for a Vietnam visa to be able to remain there lawfully as required.

7. Visa conversion service and visa purpose

9. Foreigner Visa Services
